How to Sweep a Girl off Her Feet

You never know; the cute girl you're checking out at the library could be the one you spend the rest of your life with.  There's no living life without taking chances, so get ready to sweep her off her feet!  At the very least, she'll have a fun story to tell her friends... and if you're really lucky, you can tell your grandkids the lively story about how you met.

Be sincere.  You should compliment her, of course, but don't do it in a way that seems false.  Try not to give her something generic or forgettable; think about why she caught your eye.  Was it a band sticker or the book she was reading?  Complimenting her on her taste is always a good place to start, and it shows you've been paying attention!

Don't expect anything back.  If you walk up to a girl and pay her a compliment, the only reward you should be looking for is her smile!  Don't be pushy and don't ask for more than she's willing to give.  A little bit of restraint can make you go way up in her eyes and even if she's not interested tonight, that doesn't mean she won't feel more interested later.

Be nice!  It's simple enough, but something like giving her some change for the bus or loaning her a pencil can make a real impression.  Don't overdo it, but a simple act of buying her a soda when you've never met is something very memorable.

If you've known the girl for a little while, you can get bolder.  Because you now know her a little better, you should know lots of things about what she likes.  Pick something small, but make sure that it's something that's personal to her.  Girls might talk about diamond rings and limos, but a guy who can remember their favorite author or band scores massive points.

Let her make the decision.  Many girls will be pleased to be the ones with the power for once.  Walk up to a girl and ask if you can give her your phone number, email or username.  If she says yes, give it to her and then leave. Giving a girl the power over being the one who calls can make you stand out in the crowd and give you a better chance of a call the next day.

Be confident!  Don't be arrogant, but project confidence and people will be drawn to that.  If you look like you've just got the stuffing knocked out of you, she'll be able to tell, but act like you know what you're doing, and the world will fall into place around you.
